Running for office–even school board–is a grueling, expensive task. My campaign cost over $50,00o to win the fourth seat on the Board, and we ended up with a campaign debt of $5,000. I’m asking my supporters to help me retire that debt.

Contributions are not tax deductible. Corporate contributions are prohibited; individuals, partnerships and other non-incorporated organizations may contribute up to $500. We may not accept cash, cashiers checks or money orders over $99. We may not accept contributions from foreign nationals or persons who are negotiating public contracts subject to School Board approval, or who have received such a School Board contract within the prior three months. You may only contribute a combined total of $7,000 to all Supervisorial, School Board or Community College candidates running in the November 2008 election.

Unfortunately I’m not using Paypal because there is no way to be sure of collecting the required information from each donor. I’m looking into being able to accept credit cards but it’s complicated
