JROTC!!!! Yay! HOOAH!

I would just like everyone to know that the Junior Reserver Officer Training Corps is a wonderful program. JROTC is not about recruiting children into the military, yes 30% of kids in JROTC go into the military, but that is their choice. JROTC keeps kids out of trouble, boosts self-esteem, and have good stats such as:
~Attendance-3% higher
~Graduation-12%higher
~Indiscipline-2% lower
~Drop out rate- 2% lower
~GPA- 2% higher
~SAT scores- 132.93 points higher.

I am currently a student in the program at my high school, and it is my life. It gives me self confidence and motivates me. I hope to get a scholarship for this Great program, and I support it greatly.
thanks,

extremely well reasoned. Anyone who is not a "single issue" zealot cannot oppose this and keep credibility.

the issue in a major city is offering those kids without focus and structure, who CRAVE it, a program like this; its important.

In a city like SF, this is a courageous stance; which should earn everyone who is concerned about the kids of SF and their options in life.

Remember, we want them on that wall.

My son was a member of the JROTC program at Lowell and benefitted greatly from his experiences in the program. He is currently a freshman at UC San Diego and asked me to support only those candidates who are willing to put the interests of the students ahead of their own political agendas. I'm glad I checked out your web site. Thank you for being willing to get past your own inherent bias and put our kids first. You have my vote.

Your honesty regarding your struggle with this issue is refreshing and much appreciated. You seem to have made a very fair analysis of the JROTC program. But ultimately, you have my vote because of your commitment to hold the Board to its word.
