Now that Prop A has officially passed, I can confess that I was really, really worried that it wouldn’t. I thought a combination of a very low turnout election and some boneheaded but stubborn opposition might shave off enough percentage points to make the two-thirds threshold just too high. But THANK YOU, San Francisco voters — you proved yet again that you support our schools and you support our kids. Thank you. Thank you.
What I learned from this campaign is that when parents, teachers, community organizations and business leaders pull together, we can accomplish what everyone thinks is impossible. Thank you to everyone who sent emails, walked precincts, waved signs and made phone calls – we did it!
