I’m thrilled to announce that District 9 Supervisor and presumptive Assemblymember Tom Ammiano has endorsed my school board campaign. Tom wrote the legislation that created the Public Education Enrichment Fund (otherwise known as the “Prop. H fund”) and had the foresight to give the schools access to the City’s Rainy Day Fund. These funds have supported sports, libraries, arts and music in our schools, and have kept us afloat during this very dire budget year. For these contributions as well as many, many others over the years, parents, teachers and public school students owe him a great debt.
Tom’s long experience in education and deep knowledge of related policy issues will make him an important ally in Sacramento. I am honored by his support.
